RHA® Fillers

RHA® Fillers

Not all wrinkles are created equally. There are several different types of facial wrinkles: dynamic wrinkles, static wrinkles, and wrinkle folds. Among the most common types of wrinkles, dynamic wrinkles appear in areas of the face that move repetitively. These wrinkles and folds can be difficult to treat because dermal fillers may create unnatural stiffness when the face moves. The RHA® Collection comprises a selection of award-winning, designer hyaluronic acid cosmetic fillers FDA-approved for treating dynamic wrinkles and folds. Each RHA® filler is designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movements, providing you with a natural, invigorated appearance while you’re at rest and in motion.

Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center is proud to provide the full range of RHA® dermal fillers, including RHA® 1, RHA® 2, RHA® 3, and RHA® 4, within an encompassing selection of skin care treatments for optimal skin health and appearance. Contact us today to schedule an appointment for RHA® fillers and wrinkle treatment in Gainesville, FL.

What Are RHA® Fillers?

The vast majority of cosmetic facial fillers are made with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a polysaccharide naturally occurring in humans that helps retain moisture and promotes elasticity and volume in the skin. These HA fillers are FDA-approved for treating fine, static wrinkles and lines, or the lines and wrinkles visible when the face is at rest. However, most hyaluronic-acid-based fillers do not adequately address other common types of skin wrinkles and lines, such as dynamic wrinkles and folds. The RHA® collection of hyaluronic acid fillers, made with a type of hyaluronic acid most closely resembling naturally occurring HA, achieved FDA approval in 2021 for treating dynamic wrinkles and lines, such as frown or smile lines.

Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center offers the complete line of RHA® fillers: RHA® 1, RHA® 2, RHA® 3, and RHA® 4. Each filler remediates the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and folds uniquely, depending on the depth of the skin injection. These fillers provide optimal solutions for patients seeking non-surgical, gentle aesthetic enhancement with real, visible results. Contact our office today to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist in Gainesville, FL, for treatment with the RHA® collection of fillers.

RHA® 1

Developed by TEOXANE Laboratories in Geneva, Switzerland, RHA® 1 is indicated for the even filling and improvement of fine lines, superficial wrinkles, fine wrinkles, skin cracks, and for the correction of skin areas marked by signs of chronological aging and premature aging on the face, neck, and neckline. This is great for improving the appearance of barcode wrinkles or smoker’s lines, which is a highly sensitive and dynamic area of the face, for patients seeking marked improvements with instant results, and without side effects. It is also indicated for filling dynamic wrinkles, and skin folds in multiple areas, including dynamic wrinkles under eyes.

RHA® 2

Each RHA® filler is specially formulated to treat specific facial areas. RHA® 2 is a revolutionary injectable hyaluronic acid gel filler used to fill skin creases in the upper third of the face and forehead, such as mild-to-moderate nasolabial folds and marionette lines, perioral lines, radial cheek lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and glabellar lines. RHA® filler lips formula adds volume to the lips and enhances the lip contour for noticeable fullness and pout while appearing and feeling natural to the patient.

RHA® 3

The RHA® 3 filler is ideal for treating severe, dynamic wrinkles in the face, including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, commissures, and other lines within the lower-third portion of the face. This RHA® filler for cheeks, jowls, lip corners, and nasolabial areas can target deep-set wrinkles, plumping and smoothing depressed dynamic wrinkles and folds. RHA® 3 can also be used to volumize the lips and midface, as well as to smooth dynamic wrinkles in the cheeks. RHA® fillers enhance facial volume, fill wrinkles, and boost the skin’s suppleness with a designer formula created to be highly resilient and move with the dynamic demands of the face.

RHA® 4

RHA® 4 is designed to treat the deepest-set dynamic wrinkles and folds, which develop along the lower-third portion of the face and jawline. This formula is also beneficial for improving contour in the cheeks and may be used to create the appearance of high-positioned cheekbones. For deep wrinkles on the face, specifically in the cheeks or jowls, your Gainesville dermatologist may recommend RHA® 4. Some of the deepest facial wrinkles develop due to repeated scrunching expressions and movements that accumulate over time and develop deep, dynamic lines. The RHA® 4 filler targets the deepest face wrinkles by boosting volume, improving elasticity, and leveling facial folds.

What Do RHA® Fillers Treat?

The RHA® collection of fillers is the world’s first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based derm fillers designed to treat dynamic facial wrinkles and skin folds. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in all living cells, yet the human body’s supply of hyaluronic acid depletes with age, resulting in a loss of volume, sagging skin tissue, and the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds. These wrinkles and lines are even more pronounced in highly dynamic facial areas or areas that experience repeated, persistent motions and movement daily.

Each RHA® hyaluronic acid filler is specially formulated to preserve the natural structure of the hyaluronic acid molecules, adding volume and replenishing dermal tissue for long-lasting, natural-looking results. RHA® targets dynamic wrinkles and drapery in every area of the face with a formula that adapts to the natural movements of facial muscles for a unique blend of high elasticity and strength ideal for correcting dynamic wrinkles and folds. Patients may receive one or more HA filler from the RHA® product line to treat the following.

  • Dynamic Wrinkles
  • Mild-To-Severe Dynamic Lines
  • Skin Folds
  • Frown Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Forehead Wrinkles
  • Other Fine Lines
  • Nasolabial Folds
  • Marionette Lines
  • Loss Of Facial Volume
  • Perioral Lines
  • Under-Eye Wrinkles
  • Neck Wrinkles
  • Cheek Lines
  • Smoker’s Lines

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

During your consultation with our experienced skin care specialists, your provider will examine your skin and discuss your goals and concerns for the procedure. They will talk with you to create a customized treatment plan, which will determine the dermal filler or fillers to be used and the location and volume. During your initial appointment, you will receive specific care instructions for the time leading up to and following your procedure.

On the day of your procedure, your skin will be gently cleansed to remove any trace of oil, dirt, or makeup. Your provider will inject the selected RHA® filler into the designated treatment areas using an ultra-fine cannula and then lightly massage the skin for even distribution of the formula. Because the RHA® collection uses a premium hyaluronic acid formula, the results will prove smooth and resilient. Treatment with RHA® fillers takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, but this varies from person to person. For more information about your RHA® filler procedure, please contact Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center.

RHA® Filler Before And After

For most patients who receive RHA® fillers, the results are immediately apparent. Temporary swelling and bruising may occur following injections, but side effects often resolve over a week following treatment. Additionally, the quality of the results usually increases in the week following treatment. Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center patients who have received RHA® injections, whether RHA® 1, RHA® 2, RHA® 3, or RHA® 4, are highly pleased with the outcome of their treatment and report a noticeable, smoother, more youthful appearance to their faces. For the vast majority of individuals undergoing treatment with RHA® cosmetic fillers, results can last for up to 15 months. However, to maintain the facial volume and dynamic elasticity achieved with RHA®, your provider may recommend follow-up injections. Contact our skin specialists today to evaluate the best time to schedule your next cosmetic injection treatment.

How Long Do RHA® Fillers Last?

Traditional HA fillers treat static wrinkles, but RHA® fillers can treat dynamic and static wrinkles and skin folds. This means they temporarily correct almost all wrinkles, lines, and folds in the treated skin areas. Most traditional hyaluronic acid-based fillers last between 6 months to 1 year. RHA® fillers offer long-lasting treatment of wrinkles and restoration of lost volume, with results that may last up to 15 months.

Additionally, patients who receive RHA® fillers are more likely to experience reduced swelling and bruising due to RHA®’s unique, gentle formula, minimal refining process, choice of ingredients, and the ultra-fine tools used to deliver the product. To maintain the improvements achieved with RHA® treatments, patients may receive follow-up treatments as needed. Contact Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center to evaluate the optimal time to schedule your next RHA® treatment!
