What Is Restylane® Contour?

For patients seeking non-invasive cheek augmentation and cheek enhancement through dermal fillers, Restylane® for cheeks is a game-changer. As we age, we lose volume in our midface and definition in our cheeks. Restylane® Contour is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for cheek augmentation and correction of midface contour deficiencies in adults over 21.

When injected into the cheek area, Restylane® Contour adds desired volume and shapeliness without significant downtime, or a lengthy procedure. Using XpresHAn Technology™, Restylane® Contour is unique in its ability as a flexible, smooth gel that integrates naturally with the skin and soft tissue to lift and volumize the skin seemlessly. How Does Restylane® Contour Work?

Restylane® Contour is a dermal filler injected under the facial skin, and, once in place, it can increase the volume of the midface. It may also be used to increase the fullness of the cheeks. Restylane® Contour is made out of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar found in the body that gives the skin its elasticity, moisture, and volume, as well as a small amount of lidocaine, which is a common local anesthetic used to numb the skin.

In this hyaluronic acid filler or HA filler, the ingredients are crosslinked with BDDE. BBDE is an ingredient that helps form a network of HA, resulting in a gel filler that lasts longer at the treatment site. Additionally, the formula is highly viscous, which best lends itself to addressing deficiencies in the midface while allowing patients to maintain their full range of expressions! How Long Does Restylane® Contour Last?

Restylane® Contour treatments are quick, convenient, and nearly painless. Depending on the number of injections you will receive during the procedure, you may only be in our office for 15 minutes at a time, or so. The injection of additional doses or types of cosmetic fillers will likely increase the duration of your procedure.

When Restylane® Contour with Lidocaine is used for the treatment of wrinkles and folds and volume loss in the midface regions, such as to correct the appearance of volume loss and definition loss in the midface and cheeks, the results may last for up to 12 months, or one year, following initial injections. How Many Restylane® Treatments Will I Need?

Among the numerous benefits of fillers is their ability to be customized for tailored treatments that best address each patient's unique needs. Another benefit is the lasting power of dermal fillers. Restylane® Contour injectable gel temporarily restores volume to the midface and fullness to the cheeks in patients 21 or older, with visible results that last and can be maintained through supplemental injections.

By their nature, dermal fillers offer temporary results. Yet, patients who receive injections with cosmetic fillers may expect enduring qualities, such as improved skin elasticity, restored facial volume, and a naturally enhanced appearance. To schedule a consultation for your initial treatment with Restylane® Contour and to schedule touch-up injections to maintain your desired results, contact Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center.

Who Is A Candidate For Restylane® Contour?

The vast majority of patients who are in good general health, over the age of 21, and seek to improve the appearance of their midface and address volume loss in their cheeks are considered good candidates for treatment with Restylane® fillers. Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of severe allergies to lidocaine or any of the ingredients in the Restylane® Contour formula, those with bleeding disorders, or who take medications that affect bleeding and blood clotting may not be eligible to receive Restylane® injections.

The best way to determine your candidacy for treatment with Restylane® Contour is to discuss these factors and your skin care goals with your Gainesville skin care specialist. Restylane® products are approved by the FDA and are considered safe to use in specific treatment areas. Contact Gainesville Dermatology Aesthetic Center to determine the best dermal filler to meet your goals for aesthetic treatment.
